I can’t believe my last post was in October last year, where has the time gone!! Life has been extremely busy for the past wee while with some exciting milestones – my son turned 1 and has become the most amazing fun little person and he’s also started nursery. Probably the biggest change is that I’ve now returned to work after a lovely long mat leave so I barely get time to think never mind dedicating myself to my blog. It’s been quite a while since I’ve written anything, so I thought a short review post would be a great way to ease myself in gently.
Today I am comparing two of the most popular budget translucent powders in the makeup world at the moment – drum roll please……. Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Powder and RCMA No Color Powder.
I hope you are all having a great weekend.
I’m pretty sure by now you have noticed that I rather enjoy a sheet mask – there have been many posts!! Truthfully my obsession is getting a little out of hand, but its a small price to pay for baby soft glowing skin, right??
If you are new to the world of sheet masks, let me give you a short overview. These wonderful little miracle workers originated in South Korea, a nation with a fanatical devotion to skincare, they also introduced the world to BB Cream – so you could say they are beauty and skincare pioneers, where they lead, I will certainly follow!!
What is a sheet mask? To put it plainly its a cloth or fibre sheet saturated in a potent mix of skin-loving ingredients that’s left over your face for up to 30 minutes, allowing your skin to soak up all the nutrients and goodness of the serum. Upon removal of your mask, massage in any remaining product residue and bask in the gloriousness of your new silky fresh face – believe me you wont be disappointed.
Hello all my beautiful bunnies!!
Its been a wee while since I posted, so I thought I would kick off with an overview of my skincare routine and how its changed now I’m In my 30’s. I can remember turning 30 like it was yesterday, I approached it with a jumble of feelings and there were certainly quite a few questions burning in my mind – Am I officially old? Does this mean I’m an adult? Will everything start to sag/droop/wrinkle? – these were just a few of the thoughts I had in the midst of my 1/4 life crisis!! Now I’m officially ‘in my 30’s’ I can happily say that this is probably the happiest and most comfortable I have been in my life so far and most of the insecurities that plagued my teens and 20’s are pretty much gone. When I look back at old photographs of myself, I thank God that I now have a more… shall we say….. ‘sophisticated’ understanding of fashion and make-up – lets just say more than a few ‘questionable’ choices were made in my younger years.
I love these brilliant illustrations, created by illustrator Jessica Saia and writer Cecilia Rabess which visually in an all-too-real way explain what the third decade is really like.
How are we all?? As the year is soon coming to a close, I thought I would do a review on a great little bargain primer that I have been using. I have to admit, I picked this up in Boots as a bit of a ‘spur of the moment’ buy, mainly drawn by the cute packaging and not thinking very much about the quality of product.
Say hello to Maybelline Baby Skin, a range of primers including Instant Pore Eraser and Anti Fatigue Blur Options.
