I can’t believe my last post was in October last year, where has the time gone!! Life has been extremely busy for the past wee while with some exciting milestones – my son turned 1 and has become the most amazing fun little person and he’s also started nursery. Probably the biggest change is that I’ve now returned to work after a lovely long mat leave so I barely get time to think never mind dedicating myself to my blog. It’s been quite a while since I’ve written anything, so I thought a short review post would be a great way to ease myself in gently.
Today I am comparing two of the most popular budget translucent powders in the makeup world at the moment – drum roll please……. Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Powder and RCMA No Color Powder.
First of all ‘Happy Hump Day’ – the weekend is almost in sight!!
Today I bring you a short review on a little miracle worker – Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Ultra Replenishing Lotion.
Hello all my beautiful bunnies!!
Its been a wee while since I posted, so I thought I would kick off with an overview of my skincare routine and how its changed now I’m In my 30’s. I can remember turning 30 like it was yesterday, I approached it with a jumble of feelings and there were certainly quite a few questions burning in my mind – Am I officially old? Does this mean I’m an adult? Will everything start to sag/droop/wrinkle? – these were just a few of the thoughts I had in the midst of my 1/4 life crisis!! Now I’m officially ‘in my 30’s’ I can happily say that this is probably the happiest and most comfortable I have been in my life so far and most of the insecurities that plagued my teens and 20’s are pretty much gone. When I look back at old photographs of myself, I thank God that I now have a more… shall we say….. ‘sophisticated’ understanding of fashion and make-up – lets just say more than a few ‘questionable’ choices were made in my younger years.
I love these brilliant illustrations, created by illustrator Jessica Saia and writer Cecilia Rabess which visually in an all-too-real way explain what the third decade is really like.
Another day, another awards ceremony and this time its music’s biggest night — an evening we look forward to for the chance to see something more than your basic red-carpet fare – the Grammy’s offer something a little more bold and bolshy when it comes to fashion and beauty. And this year, we certainly weren’t disappointed with some stand-out looks from Taylor Swift who debuted a new blunt bob, and what about GaGa??!! There was no other fitting person to encapsulate the spirit of David Bowie.
The red carpet seen our favourite stars keeping it super-clean with glowing skin, natural hair and the smoky eye was very much the go-to look of the night!
I have to admit I’m not really a fan of any of the fashion choices of the night but below are some of my favourite Grammy’s beauty looks:
1. Ellie Goulding – My favourite look of the evening, she looks absolutely stunning, this whole look is so fresh and reeks of pure romance, I especially love her rosy pink lips.
Awards season is well under way, YAY!! And I don’t know about you, but the months of January & February are my favourites in terms of hair and beauty for this very reason!! Golden Globes, SAG Awards, The Grammy’s, People’s Choice, The BAFTA’s and of course I cant forget to mention The Academy Awards – the list goes on and with all these red carpet opportunities, its hard not to get excited. As I have mentioned before, I have a new baby at home so I am a little late in sharing my favourite award season beauty looks but for this post, I start with the BAFTA’s. This year it was all about the statement lip and below are a few of my favourite looks from the night.
1. Isla Fisher – without a doubt this is my favourite look of the evening, doesn’t she look stunning channelling old Hollywood glamour and that hair….simply gorgeous!!
Hello and welcome to my blog, this is my very first post eek!!! I have to admit I have been sitting here for well over an hour thinking about how to kick off my first post. What better way to begin than introducing myself with a quote – everyone loves a good quote and the statement above has never been truer!!
I have recently just qualified as a professional Make-Up Artist (squeal) I cant help getting excited everytime I think about that. I have been wanting to start a blog for a long time now but just never really had the time to dedicate to it. What better time to do it than now when I am starting my journey as make-up newbie.
With this blog I hope to chart my journey as a make-up artist but also do some reviews of the products I have been using with some handy hints and tips. I also love fashion and travel so there may be the odd sneaky post about that too!
I hope you all enjoy reading,
