Today I bring you a short review of Nip & Fab’s Dragon’s Blood Fix Cleansing Pads. I’ll be honest, I didn’t really know much about this brand or its products until I did a little more research for this post. Most surprisingly I discovered that Nip & Fab was actually created by Maria Hatzistefanis who is also the brains behind premium skincare brand Rodial. The Rodial brand has amassed quite a cult following with fans loving the quirky ingredients such as bee venom, dragon’s blood, stem cell, snake and pink diamond to name but a few. Enter Nip + Fab – the idea was to offer the same quirks that drew a cult following to Rodial but at a lower, more affordable price.
I came across the Dragon’s Blood Fix Cleansing Pads when I was shopping in Superdrug, they were on offer for £4.95 (normal price is £9.95) and anything that promises plumper, smoother and more youthful skin is a winner for me.
There are 60 pads to a pot which you use once in the morning and once at night, they are soaked in product so the pads are wet to apply. Ingredients include salicylic and hyaluronic acids which deeply cleanse pores and provide long-lasting hydration for skin that appears plumper. Now what exactly is Dragon’s Blood?? Well, it actually bears no relation to the animal kingdom whatsoever!! You will find this dark red, sappy resin in the trunk of a particular species of South American Tree – when the trunk is cut, the resin oozes out giving the impression that it’s bleeding – mystery solved!
I have been using these pads for just under a month now and I wasn’t expecting much especially at such a low price but surprisingly I noticed a difference in my skin after just a couple of days. Immediately after using the pad my skin felt so much smoother and after a couple of weeks the redness in my cheeks completely died down – this was the biggest plus point for me. I am officially obsessed 🙂 These pads do make your skin tingle a little so I would be careful if you have overly sensitive skin. I will definitely be purchasing these again and it would encourage me to try a few more products in the range.
