Today I bring you a review of the dreamy Becca Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector. If you aren’t already familiar with Jaclyn Hill, she is a Florida-based beauty YouTuber and makeup artist and with over 2 million subscribers to her YouTube channel, she has become something of an internet sensation. Last year seen her collaborate with Becca Cosmetics to create a gorgeous limited edition pressed highlighter – Champagne Pop. Described as a “soft white gold with pinky peach undertones,” its sold exclusively at Space NK in the UK and Sephora worldwide (it actually broke Sephora’s record for most purchased product on its first day of release) Impressive eh!!!
Speaking of Jaclyn, have you seen any of her videos? If not, check out her YouTube Channel – there is everything from daytime make-up looks, contouring and highlighting, to one of my personal favourites – Bomshell Make-Up!
Now enough of my waffling and back to the task in hand – If your looking for a highlighter so bright and shiny it can be seen from space then this is definitely for you – it will make your cheekbones pop and your skin glow – and I mean glow like a shining beacon of light, I am not exaggerating!
If you are anything like me, choosing the right highlighter can be a tricky business and I have gone through many different brands over the years. The thing I love most about this product is that despite its highly reflective finish, it doesn’t appear frosty or metallic and most importantly, it doesn’t rest in any fine lines (we all have them!!) or emphasise pores. I use a soft bushy brush to sweep it over my cheekbones, its appearance is almost creamy and it glides onto the skin like a dream.
The gorgeous shimmery powder is also designed to give all skin tones a bronzy glow, music to the ears of all the pale ladies out there. It looks quite golden in the pictures above, but when its on the skin, it takes more of a pearlescent appearance. Take time to build up your level of glow and be careful not to apply too much to your brush – this will result in you resembling a human disco ball – I have made this mistake and it wasn’t a good look!!
All in all, I think this is a great product – If you want a high-shine highlighter that won’t emphasise your pores or fine lines, try Champagne Pop, you wont be disappointed!
You can purchase your very own Champagne Pop from Space NK, retailing at £32.
