So Fall/Winter 2015 fashion month is upon us – how exciting!!! I just love seeing all the new beauty trends fresh off the catwalk and Autumn just happens to be my favourite season. Everything just gets a little more warm, cosy and alive with colour, from the leaves falling off the trees to the crisp bright mornings, I just love autumn!!
The A/W 2015 catwalk shows are well under way from London to Paris and New York – there have been defining key beauty looks to take note of this season!!! Too scared to try and pull off an avant-garde trend from the couture shows, well this season the runway was brimming with fresh beauty looks easy to re-create at home. From smoldering smokey eyes to berry stained lips and flushed dewy skin, here are my favourite trends from the catwalk this fall season:
1. CAT EYE
There were a few versions of the classic cat-eye on the runway this year from soft smooth lines to a bold, brash graphic take on this trend.
Dolce & Gabbana A/W 2015
Donna Karen A/W 2015
Chanel A/W 2015
Paco Rabanne A/W 2015
2. KOHL LINER
Perhaps known as the more subtle younger sister of gel/liquid liner, Kohl liner has made a come-back and took on a sexy grunge rock ‘n’ roll vibe.
Versace A/W 2015
Lanvin A/W 2015
Marc by Marc Jacobs A/W 2015
Roberto Cavalli A/W 2015
3. METALLIC MAGIC
The catwalk was awash with stunning variations of metallic’s and shimmer, from a hint of colour to full on glamour and embellishment.
Mara Hoffman A/W 2015
Ellie Saab A/W 2015
Adashi Shoji A/W 2015 Rodarte A/W 2015
4. LUSCIOUS LIPS
Perhaps the most dramatic use of colour was left to the statement lip – the iconic red lip is still a popular trend this A/W, deep vivid colour makes this look fresh and exciting again. A bolder choice would be the ‘vamp’ lip trend seen in many shows, such as Giles and Ungaro – tones of oxblood, burgundy and the deepest blackberry debuted.
Christian Dior A/W 2105 Phillip Limm A/W 2015 Roksanda A/W 2015
Giles A/W 2015
Ungaro A/W 2015
4. BARELY-THERE BEAUTY
Seen on the S/S 2015 runways, minimal make-up has transitioned seamlessly into the fall season. This stripped back look is all about natural flushed skin, light contouring, tamed brows, highlight and a gorgeous nude or pale pink lip. Its all about fresh faced beauty.
Giambattista Valli A/W 2015 Michael Kors A/W 2015
Topshop Unique A/W 2015 Thakoon A/W 2015
5. SMOLDERING SMOKES
Another iconic look making a return this season is the smokey eye and we are talking seriously seductive statement smokes. From traditional sultry black hues to metallic washes of colour, the super-smoky eye was a prominent look in many of the runway shows.
Christian Dior A/W 2015 Diane von Furstenberg A/W 2015
Cushnie Et Ochs A/W 2015 Monique Lhuillier A/W 2015
So that concludes my favourite looks for the A/W season hot off the runway – how easy are these to pull off on your own at home!
